6ix9ine Accepts Plea Deal With Jail Time After Violating His Probation

Tekashi 6ix9ine has agreed to take a plea deal after he allegedly violated the terms of his probation.

On Wednesday, November 6, prosecutors announced that the New York native, born Daniel Hernandez, has accepted a plea agreement that will put him back behind bars for a few weeks. In a letter to Judge Paul A. Engelmayer, prosecutors pushed for the "FEFE" rapper to be sentenced to a month in jail, a month on house arrest and a month on curfew. Judge Engelmayer is expected to hand down his sentence during a hearing next week where Hernandez will formally enter his guilty plea.

The controversial artist was just months away from completing his supervised released before he was arrested on October 29. Judge Engelmayer previously granted him a compassionate release from his two-year prison sentence a few months early in 2020 after Hernandez complained about COVID-19 conditions inside the prison. Hernandez had been locked up since 2019 after he pleaded guilty to a racketeering case and testified against former members of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods gang.

Hernandez's probation officer claimed he recently failed drug tests and refused to request permission before traveling. During his arraignment, prosecutors said Hernandez had traveled to Las Vegas without approval and missed his scheduled drug test after he reportedly tested positive for meth twice. 6ix9ine denied the claims about his drug tests and asserted that they came out positive because he took Adderall.

As part of the plea deal, Hernandez will have to submit to electronic monitoring and remain on probation for another year. Both sides will have a chance to convince the judge how the plea deal with work out especially after the artist has reportedly violated his probation in the past. THe hearing is scheduled for November 12.
